Welcome to the Vocal Nest Help Branch. Here you'll find everything you need to get started, manage your campaigns, and collaborate with your team.
๐๏ธ Campaign Nests
Campaign Nests are your branded landing pages for collecting video testimonials.
Creating a Nest
- Navigate to your Dashboard and click "New Nest".
- Fill in a campaign name, welcome message, and the questions you want respondents to answer.
- Customise your branding โ add your logo, choose colours, and set the tone.
- Click "Create" to publish your Nest.
Sharing Your Nest
- Link: Copy the unique shareable link from the campaign card and send it via email, social media, or embed it on your website.
- QR Code: Generate a QR code for print materials, event booths, or physical signage.
Managing Responses
- All video responses appear in the Responses tab of each campaign.
- Use the built-in AI transcription tool to auto-generate text transcripts.
- Filter, sort, and review responses by date, respondent name, or status.
๐ฆ Flock Workspaces
Flocks are shared team environments where you collaborate on campaigns together.
Creating a Flock
- Go to Settings โ Flock Settings in your dashboard.
- Click "Create a Flock" and give it a name.
- You can create up to 5 Flock workspaces per account.
Inviting Members
- Click "Invite Member" in your Flock settings panel.
- Enter the email address of the person you want to invite.
- They'll receive an invitation in their Chirps notification centre.
Switching Flocks
- Use the Flock selector dropdown at the top of the dashboard to switch between your active Flocks.
- Each Flock has its own set of campaigns, members, and settings โ your data stays isolated and organised.
๐ฆ The Pecking Order โ Roles & Permissions
Vocal Nest uses a role-based permission system called The Pecking Order. Every member of a Flock or shared campaign is assigned a role.
| Role | Access Level | What They Can Do |
|---|---|---|
| Owl | Admin / Full Control | Manage settings, billing, team members, and all campaigns. |
| Hawk | Editor / Reviewer | Create, edit, and review campaigns and video responses. |
| Guest | View Only | Read-only access to campaigns shared with them. |
Changing a Member's Role
- Open Flock Settings and find the member.
- Click the role badge next to their name.
- Select the new role from the dropdown.
Note: Only Owls can change roles. You cannot change your own role.
๐ค Sharing & Visibility
Campaigns in Vocal Nest have three visibility levels:
Private
Only you can see and manage the campaign. It doesn't appear in any shared views.
Shared (Personal)
You can share a campaign with specific individuals by email. They'll be able to view or edit based on the role you assign.
Flock
The campaign is visible to all members of the active Flock. Everyone sees it in the Flock dashboard according to their Pecking Order role.
How to Share a Campaign
- Click the share icon on any campaign card.
- Choose the visibility level (Private, Shared, or Flock).
- For Shared campaigns, enter email addresses and assign roles.
- Click "Save" to apply.
๐ฅ Collecting Video Testimonials
How the Collector Flow Works
- A respondent opens your Nest link โ no login required.
- They see your branded welcome page and questions.
- They record their video directly in the browser (or upload a pre-recorded file).
- After recording, they fill in a short form with their name, email, and consent.
- The video uploads securely and appears in your dashboard.
Tips for Great Testimonials
- Keep questions short โ 2โ4 focused questions work best.
- Use a warm welcome message โ set the tone and make respondents feel comfortable.
- Enable retakes โ let people re-record if they're not happy with their first take.
- Test your link โ always preview your Nest before sharing it widely.
๐ Chirps โ Notifications
Chirps is your in-app notification centre. It keeps you informed about:
- Flock invitations โ accept or decline team invites.
- Nest invitations โ when someone shares a campaign with you.
- New responses โ when a respondent submits a video testimonial.
Click the bell icon in the dashboard header to open your Chirps panel.

Profile
Update your display name and profile picture from the Settings page in your dashboard.
Theme
Toggle between Light and Dark mode using the theme switcher in the sidebar.
